First: THE MOCK exam was introduced by the JOINT ADMISSION AND MATRICULATION BOARD (JAMB),in 2017.

The  jamb mock exam is meant to help prospective candidates who will be writing the main exam,to get prepared and get use to the computer system before actually writing the main exam.

Before introducing the mock exam,the board(jamb) must have discovered that aspirants who will be writing the main exam might be afraid of using the computer system and may not be able to cope with time factor and the tension of the exam.

The registration for the jamb mock exam last for about  2 weeks,and the registration is free.

It’s the same day you register for jamb that you MUST register for the mock exam.

After which the exam date,time and venue will  be sent to those who will write the exam.

On the day of your exam,you will be charge 700 naira(as at 2017,2018) for the exam.

Its this money you will pay to the cbt owners on the day of your exam NOT during registration.

The jamb mock exam is not compulsory and its not a must you register for it.

And even if you register for it,there is NO penalty attached to not writing it.

The mock exam will be like the normal jamb exam,just that most of the questions are jamb past questions.

One of the disadvantages of the mock exam is the money spent on reprinting and writing the exam.

Some people might still pay for transport inorder to write the exam,so if you have a computer at home you can actually download the cbt app and practice yourself but always note that the tension will not be there like the mock exam.

Also, your mock exam score will not be added to your jamb exam score.

Its just for you to get prepared for jamb.

A very good advantage of the mock exam is that as a smart student your jamb score must be higher than your mock exam score, Because immediately after writing the mock exam you will get to know your lapses and actually correct them before the exam.
